I have checked out many knives and their are some great bargains on Amazon. Not many hunting knives that are good hunting quality. The line of Fallkniven with the PHK series knives make a very formidable line many skinning knives that would cross over and make great butcher knives as well other than the convex edge. The bigger Fallkniven survival knives that get rave reviews. I would be more that happy with the hunting knives. They are built to last and have very high quality steel:3G with a blade hardness og 62 HRC.

I can see the many uses these fixed blade hunting knives would have in a hunting camp. The Fallkniven PHK would be great for field dressing big game like moose and elk. It is only in the last ten years I have been able to afford this kind of quality. This is the product I am going to buy for my next elk hunting trip. I can see by the way they are built with the quality of steel used. The shape of the PHK series states it is a big game hunting knife like no other. I am a little concerned about the sharpening system I have and if it will work with this type of steel. It is a concern but not a issue because the Fallkniven steel and sharpening stone are priced very good also. I would just buy what the Fallkniven knife makers recommend, I can get this at Amazon for a good price.

Some of the deciding factors in choosing this knife were the quality of the steel and the build of the knife.
